Life’s a party 🎉 and what a wondeful one @emporia_patterns put together last week! We were so lucky to spend the evening with so many bees 🐝 and listening to their backstage stories 😍 Off course I took a group photo 😆

Creative reuse: the inspiration behind this embroidery came from watching the Paris Olympics 2024. I fell in-love with the wonderful costumes🩱 of the women’s rhythmic gymnastics and synchronised swimming 🏊‍♀️.
I decided to refashion a dress that I use to wear when I was seventeen 😆 that’s right! I love this dress so much that I kept wearing it year after year, but I finally decided to give it a new life 🤩. I bought coloured beads and gems 💎 @giesse_scampoli to create this elegant and extravagant embroidery as the centre piece of the dress. This is face one and will be completing the dress later on for the @londonfrocktails party. This is just te beginning. I hope you enjoy it!

The French Couture Jacket that I made in Edam is finally completed. I wanted to have a classy Chanel look black and white tweeds. So proud of this make as I learned so many hand sewing🧵 technique. Thank you to the wonderful Professoressa Maaike, who guided us and hosted an incredible workshop in 🇳🇱 I will treasure and use those techniques for ever.

The language of fans 🪭

Ornately decorated fans were the height of fashion in Regency London, an essential addition to any outfit. These elegant creations were more than simply accessories however and, as in Bridgerton, fans could sometimes be used as a playful flirtation between men and women.
A well-timed flutter of a fan, perhaps hiding a coy glance or a fan gallantly retrieved after being dropped at a ball, could be significant to the ladies and gentleman of the ‘Ton, provoking gossip, rumour and maybe even a match. As Colin Bridgerton says to Penelope Featherington in season 3 of Bridgerton: “You know how to wave your fan, flutter your lashes...
often that is all it takes” (don’t miss the Bridgerton exhibition at @libertylondon store).
